Equipping Nigerian youth with practical skills in agriculture, renewable energy, and entrepreneurship — so they can build sustainable livelihoods, support their families, and uplift their communities.
Lifting As We Climb Youth Empowerment Foundation is a registered non-governmental organization incorporated under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (CAC Registration No. 8079365). Based in Abuja and Port Harcourt, we are dedicated to transforming the lives of young Nigerians through hands-on skills training and mentorship.
Nigeria's youth population is one of the largest in the world, yet millions lack access to the practical skills needed to secure sustainable employment or start their own businesses. We bridge this gap by providing comprehensive training programs that combine technical skills with business acumen — from agricultural production and renewable energy installation to accounting, marketing, and entrepreneurship.
Our foundation was established by Afie Jumbo Perry Briggs with a clear conviction: when you equip one young person with the right skills, they don't just lift themselves — they lift their families, their communities, and the next generation of youth who follow in their footsteps.

"When you teach a young person to fish — and to sell the fish — you transform an entire community."
To empower Nigerian youth with practical, market-ready skills that enable them to build sustainable livelihoods and become agents of change in their communities.
A Nigeria where every young person has the skills, confidence, and opportunity to create a prosperous future for themselves and their families.
We use a train-the-trainer model — equipping youth not only to succeed themselves, but to pass their knowledge on to others, creating a multiplying effect across communities.
From fish farms to solar installations, our graduates are building real businesses, earning real income, and proving that investment in youth empowerment delivers lasting returns.
Each program combines practical, hands-on training with business skills — giving youth everything they need to build sustainable livelihoods.

Our agriculture program covers the full value chain — from production to profit. Trainees gain hands-on experience in fish farming (catfish and tilapia), crop cultivation, poultry management, and modern farming techniques suited to Nigeria's climate and market demands.

Nigeria's energy gap is a massive opportunity. We train youth in the installation, maintenance, and repair of solar panel systems — one of the fastest-growing sectors in West Africa. Graduates leave with the technical certification and practical experience to work as professional solar technicians or start their own installation businesses.

Technical skills alone aren't enough. Every trainee also receives comprehensive business education covering accounting, marketing, customer relations, and business planning. We prepare youth not just to find jobs, but to create them — building enterprises that employ others and strengthen local economies.
"Before the program, I had no direction. Now I run my own fish farm and employ two other young people from my community. The training changed everything for me."
"Learning solar installation gave me a skill that is in high demand. I now install panels for homes and businesses across Abuja. I can take care of my family and I'm training my younger brother too."
"The business skills I learned — accounting, marketing, customer service — these are what turned my technical training into a real livelihood. I'm not just surviving, I'm building something."
